Online timer – count down in large digits
Sometimes every second counts. This online timer counts down in large, clear digits, so everyone in the room knows exactly where they stand.
Set hours, minutes and seconds and choose an end signal. Ideal for an assignment with a hard deadline, a pitch with fixed speaking time, or a game where the clock counts.
Make every lesson, training or presentation interactive.
Your group takes part live on their own phones, without an app and without an account.
What you can set
- Hours, minutes and seconds are set separately, so both short and long times are possible.
- An end sound of your choice: a bell, a school bell, a school buzzer or no sound.
- Pause and carry on where you left off, or start again with one click.
- The colour follows the theme you choose for your presentation.
- Participants can follow the timer live on their own phone.
Frequently asked questions
Is this online timer free?
Yes. You open it straight in your browser, with no account and nothing to install. With a subscription you save it in a presentation, together with the other tools you use, so everything is ready to go next time.
How do you use it in the classroom?
During a test or an assignment with a hard deadline, students can see to the second how much time they have left. Big numbers are easy to read even at the back of the classroom, so nobody needs to ask. Set the timer to five minutes for marking, for example, or to half an hour for a writing task, and let the clock do the work.
How do you use it in a meeting or training?
Give every pitch three minutes or keep a brainstorm strictly on time. Because everyone sees the numbers counting down, speakers wrap up on their own and you don’t have to interrupt anyone. For a long workshop or an exam, set it in hours, so it’s visible all day how much time is left.
How do you use it at home?
Count down to dinner, keep track of a study block, or use it for a game where the clock matters. On a TV or tablet it’s easy to read from the sofa. Also handy for working out at home: set a round of a few minutes and let the end sound warn you.
Can I also count down in hours?
Yes. You set hours, minutes and seconds separately. That way you use the same timer for a five-minute task and for a two-hour exam.
What’s the difference with the Analog Timer?
The Digital timer shows the remaining time in numbers, to the second. The Analog Timer shows the time as an area on a clock face that gets smaller. Numbers are handy when it has to be exact; the clock face works better for young children.
Does the timer work on an interactive whiteboard?
Yes. It works in any browser, so also on an interactive whiteboard, a large screen or a projector. Make it full screen for the biggest numbers.
Can I pause the timer?
Yes. Stop holds the remaining time, and start carries on where it left off. Reset starts again with the time you had set.
Can participants see the timer on their phone?
Yes. Participants join with a code via livecloud.online/join and see the timer live on their own screen, even if they’re sitting far from the big screen or joining remotely.
