Frequently asked questions
Is the Live Poll free?
Yes. You open the poll straight in your browser, with no account and nothing to install, and participants don’t need an app. With a subscription you save it in a presentation, together with the other tools you use.
How do you use it in the classroom?
At the start of the lesson, ask how students are feeling, or after an explanation how well they understood it. They tap an icon on their phone, and the bars immediately show where the class stands. That way you know within a minute whether you can move on or need to go over something again.
How do you use it in a meeting or training?
At the end of a session, gauge how satisfied the group is, or ask along the way which direction they prefer. Everyone votes at the same time from their own phone, so nobody has to be the first to raise a hand. The result appears on screen straight away and gives you an honest picture to start the conversation with.
How do you use it at a party or event?
Let guests choose what the next game will be, or vote for the best costume of the night. They tap an icon on their phone, and the bars grow live on the big screen. That naturally brings suspense and laughter, and guests only need a code to join. Everyone sees the winner straight away.
How do participants vote?
Participants go to livecloud.online/join and enter the code shown on the screen. On their phone they see the same icons as on the board, and tap one. Their vote appears in the chart right away.
Which icons can I choose?
When setting up, you choose from different icon sets, with two to ten options per set. That way you pick a set that suits your question, from a quick choice between two to a ten-point scale.
Is there a right or wrong answer?
No. A poll measures what the group thinks, not what the group knows. If you want to ask a question with a correct answer, use Multiple Choice: there you mark which answer is right and reveal it after voting.
Can I hide the result at first?
Yes. Hide the result while voting is going on, so nobody is swayed by what the others choose, and show it afterwards. Click a bar to switch between counts and percentages.
Can each participant vote only once?
By default, yes. In the settings you decide how many votes each participant may cast, from one to unlimited. Starting again clears all votes so you can ask a new question.
