Photo cloud: collect pictures from your group live
Sometimes a picture says more than a word. With the PictureCloud you build a live photo cloud together: participants send in a photo and every submission appears together on your screen, so you see how differently – or how similarly – the group looks at a topic.
Participants pick a photo on their phone; with pre-moderation you approve each one first. Have a class photograph something that fits the lesson, ask a team for ‘the image that sums up this project’, or collect the photos of a day out in one place.

What is a PictureCloud?
A PictureCloud is a word cloud with photos instead of words. Participants send in an image from their own phone, and all the pictures appear live together in a cloud on the big screen. That way you see at a glance what the group has in mind for a question or topic.
How do you use it in the classroom?
Ask students to send in a photo that fits the topic: something from nature, an example of a shape or a place in their neighbourhood. Together the images form a cloud on the board, so you see in a single picture how differently the class looks at the same topic. Enlarge a photo and let its maker explain why they chose it.
How do you use it in a meeting or training?
Open with ‘Send a photo that shows how your week went’ or ‘Which image fits our project?’. Everyone picks an image on their own phone, and the PictureCloud fills up live on the screen. Pictures often say more than words, and give you an immediate opening for the conversation: what do you see in this photo?
How do you use it at a party or event?
Let guests send in their photos of the day, or an old photo of the birthday person or the couple. All the pictures appear live in a cloud on the big screen, a cheerful overview that keeps growing. With moderate first you look at every photo first, and afterwards you download the cloud as a memory of the day.
Is the PictureCloud free?
No. The PictureCloud is a pro tool and comes with a Silver or Gold subscription. Participants don’t need anything: they join via livecloud.online/join, with no account and no app. If you’d like to make a cloud for free first, start with the Live WordCloud for words.
What’s the difference with the Live WordCloud?
In the Live WordCloud participants send in words, and words that come up more often get bigger. In the PictureCloud they send in images, and every photo gets its own place in the cloud. One shows what the group thinks, the other what the group sees.
Can I check photos first?
Yes. Turn on moderate first; an image then only appears in the cloud once you approve it in the moderation panel. A photo that’s already on the screen can be removed with one click. That way the cloud stays suitable for everyone watching.
How many photos can each participant send in?
You decide: from one image per person to unlimited. The default is five. If you want everyone to choose the one picture that fits best, set it to one; for a party photo album, set it higher.
Can participants like each other’s photos?
No. Likes only work with text, so the option isn’t available in the PictureCloud. If you want the group to respond, enlarge a photo on the screen and ask its maker to say something about it.
