Online wall with text and photos
The CombiWall is an online wall where participants post text, a photo or both in a single post, and everything is neatly gathered in one place. A photo with a short explanation often tells more than either one on its own.
Think of a lesson where students show and explain their result, a workshop where groups photograph and describe their outcome, or a farewell where colleagues leave a photo and a personal message.
Make every lesson, training or presentation interactive.
Your group takes part live on their own phones, without an app and without an account.
What you can set
- Participants send an image, a text of up to 250 characters, or both in one message.
- How many messages each participant may post: five by default, from one to unlimited.
- Hide usernames, so messages appear on the wall without a name.
- Moderate first, with a moderation panel where you approve or reject messages.
- Likes for messages with text, and a colour theme of your own for the wall.
- Pause, hide messages, and enlarge or remove individual messages.
Frequently asked questions
What is a CombiWall?
A CombiWall is a digital noticeboard where participants can post a photo and a text in one message. Everything appears live on the big screen, in columns side by side. That way you combine the images of a PictureWall with the explanation of a Live Wall.
How do you use it in the classroom?
Have students send in a photo of their worked solution with a short explanation: how did they arrive at this answer? On the CombiWall image and text sit together in one message, so you see not just the result but also the thinking behind it. Enlarge a message on the board and discuss it with the class, without having to collect exercise books.
How do you use it in a workshop or training?
Ask participants for an example from their own practice: a photo of their workplace, a sketch or a screenshot, with a few sentences of explanation. Anyone without a photo to hand simply sends text only. That creates a wall full of recognisable situations on the big screen, and with likes you see which examples resonate most with the group.
How do you use it at a party or event?
Let guests send in a photo with a personal message for the birthday person, the newlyweds or a colleague who’s leaving. Each message appears live on the big screen, with image and text together. Together you create a digital guestbook, and with moderate first you check what comes in before everyone sees it.
Is the CombiWall free?
No. The CombiWall is a pro tool and comes with a Silver or Gold subscription. Participants don’t need anything: they join via livecloud.online/join, with no account and no app. If you only need text messages, you can use the Live Wall for free.
Do participants always have to send a photo?
No. A message can be an image, a text or both. Anyone without a suitable photo writes just a few sentences; anyone who’d rather show it sends just a photo. A text is up to 250 characters long.
Can I check messages first?
Yes. With moderate first a message only appears on the wall once you approve it in the moderation panel, where you also see the photo that goes with it. A message that’s already on the wall can be removed with one click.
Can participants like each other’s messages?
Yes, if you turn on likes. Participants then like messages with text on their own phone, and the number of likes is shown with the message on the wall. A message with only a photo can’t get likes.
Can I save the wall?
Yes. You download the wall as a PDF, JPG or PNG, and all messages as a PDF or Excel file. The download of the wall includes all messages, even those out of view. Handy for a report, or as a memory of a party.
