Not everyone thinks in words. The CombiCloud is a word cloud where each participant chooses per submission: a word or a photo. That way verbal thinkers and visual thinkers can both give their best answer, and everything ends up in one cloud.
Participants join with a code on their phone. Useful for an opener like ‘What do you expect from today?’, for a brainstorm where a photo says it faster than a sentence, or in a class with students who are still learning the language.

What is the CombiCloud?
The CombiCloud is a live cloud where participants send in both words and images. For each submission they choose: type a word or upload a photo. Words that come up more often get bigger, so you see in a single picture what’s on the group’s mind.
How do you use it in the classroom?
Ask students what comes to mind about a topic, and let them choose how to answer: with a word or with a photo. Anyone who can’t find the words sends in a photo of a drawing or an object. That way everyone takes part in their own way, and in a few minutes you have a cloud the whole class made together.
How do you use it in a meeting or training?
Open a session with ‘Show what your working day looks like’ and let participants send in a word or a photo. A picture often says more than a word, which makes the conversation that follows more personal. With moderate first you decide what appears on the screen, so there’s no need to fear surprises.

Is the CombiCloud free?
No, the CombiCloud comes with a subscription. If you only want to work with words, the Live WordCloud is a good alternative. In both cases participants don’t need an account or app; they join with a code.
What’s the difference with the Live WordCloud?
In the Live WordCloud participants only send in words. In the CombiCloud they can choose between a word and an image for each submission. That’s handy with young children, for a creative assignment, or when you’d rather collect images than concepts.
How do participants join?
Participants go to livecloud.online/join on their phone, tablet or laptop and enter the code shown on the screen. There they choose between text and image, and send in their answer. That’s all it takes.
Can I block inappropriate submissions?
Yes. Turn on moderate first; a word or image then only appears on the screen once you approve it. A submission that’s already on the screen can be removed with one click.
How much can each participant send in?
You decide in the settings: from one submission per person to unlimited. The default is five, and a word can be up to 40 characters long. Set it to one if you want everyone’s first thought.
